Why I'm Running

In 2025, before I decided to run for Attorney General, I wanted to visit all 88 counties and see the state.

 

I found the same thing everywhere: Ohioans are working hard, but no one listens to them anymore. I hear you loud and clear.

 

Politicians in Columbus are busy playing politics. They’ve forgotten who pays their salary.

 

You deserve an independent-minded Attorney General who will go to work for you every day and do the right thing.

 

It’s time to get back to the basic issues that Ohioans care about. That means taking on corrupt politicians and restoring transparency and accountability to our government. 

 

It means taking on price-fixing monopolies, scam artists and robocallers, Medicaid provider and nursing home fraudsters, and anyone else trying to rip us off. 

 

I have the experience to get the job done.

Who i am

I’m a lawyer, not a politician. 

 

I grew up in Columbus, the son of parents from Martins Ferry and Cincinnati. I had a paper route that let me pay my way for a Catholic education. I was fortunate to win a scholarship to Ohio State where I studied American history. From there, I went to Yale Law School.

 

I clerked for a federal judge for one year, and then went to work as a litigator in Columbus for over 40 years. 

 

 

I have won cases in the Supreme Court of the United States, Supreme Court of Ohio, and federal and state courts all across Ohio.

 

I have proudly served my neighbors on city council in Upper Arlington since 2020.

 

Over the years, I have also served as president of the Columbus Chapter of the Federal Bar Association and on the boards of the Columbus Zoo, Catholic Social Services, Ohio Historical Society Board, and the Ohio Bicentennial Commission.
